the festival of arts in Solomon

おはようございます。
本日AM4時から６時頃まで隣人による爆音のノリノリの音楽がかかりほとんど眠れませんでした。
外でスピーカーを使って音楽を聴いていたようです。
頭が割れるような音で騒音の域を超えています。
時々音量を変えたり音楽を変えたり早送りをしたり・・・
ドミは常に窓が開いているのでさらに苦しめられました・・・。

Good morning.
From 4am to 6am suddenly I heard the big sound volume music from outside.
Someone heard music by a speaker in the outside near my dormitory.
The music was so noisy and what was even worse,it continued more than 1 hour.....
Because of that,I couldn't get enough sleep..

現在ホニアラでArt festival 2012が開催しています。
１日から１４日までの２週間という長い期間です。

大洋州の国々、アジアから２７カ国が参加している４年に１度行われるフェスティバルです。
２５００人のパフォーマーがここホニアラに集結しております。（HPより）

ホニアラ市内会場が何カ所か設置されそれぞれの場所でイベントが催されています。

さすがのソロモンタイムでオープン直後も未完成といった、おいおいという状態だったのですが開催されてからは順調にイベントが行われて国中とっても盛り上がっています。

新聞の紙面では毎日フェスティバルの記事、というか新聞のほとんどがフェスティバルの記事となっています。毎晩大きなイベントが催され、毎晩盛大な打ち上げ花火が打ち上げられます。
首都と言ってもホニアラはとっても小さな街で少し市内を離れると水道電気なし生活、ジャングルに覆われているソロモンでこんなに盛大にお祭りが行われるとは、、かなり驚いています。

イベントの内容はトラディショナルダンスだったりファッションショーだったり、歌だったり、それぞれの国の人達がステージでパフォーマンスをしています。南国の国が大半なのでとっても陽気でゆったりとした雰囲気の音楽やドレスだったり、腰みのを巻いた人たちの激しいトラディショナルダンスといった感じです。大洋州全体とっても雰囲気は似ていると思っていたのですが、実は国に寄って服装も人種も音楽も全然違っていることがわかり新しい発見でした。
中にはヒップホップとトラディショナルダンスという斬新な組み合わせも。
たくさんの国からたくさんの人が来ていてその方々との交流もできて楽しいです。

そうそうフェスティバルの中でラバラバを購入しました。
ラバラバというのは一枚布なのですが、この布一枚でドレスにもなったり水着になったりストールになったりタオルになったり、とにかく色々使えます。
たくさん奇麗なラバラバがあります。
服の上から着せてもらいました。色々な着こなしを覚えたいです。

同時にワールドトレードショーと言って、環境保護を目的とした？フェスティバルも行われています。

In Solomon the festival is held now,which is ‘the festival of Pacific Arts’, It will be held for 2weeks.
The festival is held every 4 years since 1972.In the festival a lot of artists and cultural practitioners are coming from around the Pacific region .It is recogniged as a major regional cultural event,and it is the largest event which gather pacific people.Fortunatelly,the host of this year’s festival is Solomon.I went to the festival yesterday, there are few exhibition stages in Honiara city, and in the stage we can see traditional dances which dance each pacific people ,fashion show, concert, some shows ,fireworks and more! It is held all the day ,and it is held for 2weeks.Great!
The music of pacific Islands is so cheerful and it is so comfortable, and the traditional dances are strong and so cool. Before coming Solomon,I didn’t know the difference of music and dance between each Pacific Islands,but I can know the difference of designs of clothes and rhythm of music in the festival.In Solomon people are so excited, and their heart are beating all the day,and I think it is good opportunity for Solomon Island and me to hold such event, yes, I found the new discovery here.
Finally,the interesting thing of the festival is a lot of encounter with people all over the world. Some Asian people are coming here, for example,Taiwanese,Chinese,Filipina and Japan! I can have a lot of exchange between a lot of nations.

そうそう、昨日インターネット接続のためのUSBモデムというものを購入致しました。

この写真右手のUSBなんですが中にSIMカードが入っています。

プリペイド式なのでお金をあらかじめ入れるとパソコンに差し込むとすぐにどこでも（テレコムという携帯会社の範囲内なら）インターネットがつながります。モデムのみなら700SD(7000円)くらいかかるものを、今ならキャンペーンで100SD(1000円)くらいで買えました。

ラッキーです。ただインターネットがとっても高額なのでホームページを見たり写真アップするよりはSkypeやメール送信用に使います！１５０MBで100SD（約１０００円）です。
インターネット接続は今ドミトリーで有線ランで使っています。３０分6SD（60円）です。速度もとっても遅いですが、まだできるだけ幸せだと思っています。

あと写真左手に写っているのは、現在支給されているNOKIAの携帯です。もちろん白黒、着信音はサイレンみたいに鳴り響きます・・・・。でも一応メールもできます。日本語適応ではないので英語ですが。

Yesterday I got a Internet stick ,it is like USB.If I put it into a PC,I can connect internet anytime anywhere,so it is useful.But it costs much money,so I will use it for skype and sending Email.
On the left side of the picture is my mobile phone which I use now.It is of course black and white,and the melody is like a siren…But it is enough for me.
